Pope was the leading bicycle maker in America during the late 1890s. This lead to Pope being one of the earliest motorcycle makers in America, at first utilizing clip-on French de Dion-Bouton engines. They were marketed through the company’s vast bicycle dealer network under various names including Monarch, Cleveland, American, Imperial and Columbia. The first Pope motorcycle bearing the Pope name didn’t appear until 1910. With the advent of World War I, Pope turned its manufacturing focus to the war effort and the company ceased motorcycle production in 1918.
Each motorcycle is photographed for 2-3 hours, creating 60-100 images. Every individual part is lit up, and then bits and pieces of those images are combined into one photograph in Photoshop. The Photoshop process can take up to an additional 40+ hours! The final product is printed on ChromaLuxe® aluminum, giving the photos an almost 3-D appearance. Wall floats are pre-attached to the back of the print and float 3/4 inch off the wall when hung. Easy to hang with 1-2 nails.
